Standard blinds rarely flatter that much glazing, and they do nothing for the light. Made-to-measure shutters give you proper control: angle the blades for morning sun on a south-facing lounge, then close them right down for privacy from the street on a busy estate.

My lounge window is very wide, so which blade size is best?
On the big picture windows you find in the Mearns we usually recommend our wider 89mm or 114mm blades. The larger louvre keeps the look in proportion on a broad window and gives a clearer view out, where a narrow blade can look busy. We bring samples to the visit so you can compare them in the actual room.
Do you fit shutters in the new-build estates like Maidenhill and Greenlaw?
We do. The modern estates around Maidenhill, Greenlaw and Capelrig are well within our patch. New-build openings are usually nice and square, which makes for a clean fit, and we work to the same made-to-measure standard whether the house is brand new or has been there fifty years.
How long does it take to get out to Newton Mearns?
Newton Mearns is a straight run down the M77 from our southside base, so a measure or a fit is an easy trip for us. Parking is rarely an issue on the driveways and quiet estate streets out here.
