Our Story

A Family Team,
Based on the Southside

The Shutter Station is a family-run Scottish company based on Glasgow's southside. We measure, supply and fit made-to-measure internal wooden shutters, and we have built the business on doing every part of that ourselves, properly, for customers across Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

We are not a national chain or a franchise. When you call us, you reach the people who will actually be in your home, measuring your windows, talking through your rooms, and fitting your shutters. That continuity is the whole point of how we work, and it is the reason most of our enquiries come from recommendations.

Every set of shutters we fit is custom made to your exact windows in Basswood, a stable hardwood, with a choice of four blade sizes (63mm, 76mm, 89mm and 114mm) so the proportions suit the room rather than the other way around.

Every installation is carried out by qualified, time-served joiners, never subcontracted out to a third party. Shutters are joinery: they have to sit square in openings that are rarely perfectly square, and the difference between a tidy job and an awkward one comes down to the hands fitting them.

Because the same team measures and fits, nothing is lost in translation between a quote and the finished work. There are no sales reps promising things the fitters then have to undo, and no installers "just doing as they're told". One team, accountable for the result.
